Adolph Brown IV, PhD
Adjunct Professor, Department of Economics
Course Description: The economic way of thinking helps students better understand real-world problems and decision-making. In this course, students will apply economic principles to a wide range of public policy and everyday issues, including consumer safety and health, the environment, international trade, and labor markets.
As a culminating experience, students will work in small groups to design and deliver a community-based financial plan tailored to one of our community partners: Natasha House or Four Oaks Day Center. This project serves as a real-world application of the concepts covered in class, focusing on developing practical strategies to improve financial sustainability, expand economic opportunity, and enhance resource efficiency for these organizations and the populations they serve.
